As the Network of Muslim Academics (NMA), we offer our members and friends a space to form a community and engage in a substantive exchange with academic standards.We take up socio-political discourses and like to illuminate them from a Muslim perspective. Art and music form the framework of our theme evenings, which usually take place at the end of each tertial. 

In each tertial, a circle of our members meets for three reading circles, in which renowned works on a main topic are critically read and intensively discussed. The focal points result from an annual motto, which is worked out by the board of directors in a closed meeting. Our goal is to strengthen critical and mindful thinking in Muslim circles and to bring the Muslim perspective on social issues into Muslim and non-Muslim thinking circles and associations.

As NMA, we have made it our mission to expand the alumni network within our structures. Specialist groups are to shed light on our main topics from their perspective. Our special appreciation goes to thinkers, artists and officials. We visit them as part of our “Hürmet visits” format and are happy to engage in conversation with them as an extended board.

Whether through regular participation in the reading circle, attendance at our theme evenings, or involvement in the network, any person who shows interest in our format and vision is welcome to join the Network of Muslim Academics.
